Join the Region

While NaNoWriMo is brings our local writers together one month of the year, we as a region welcome writers to stick together those other 11 months. Writers who are interested to do so can stay in touch via the LFK Writers' Discord server.

Discord is how the group does digital write-ins, as well as offering a place to chat and hang with other writers in the region. It's busiest during NaNoWriMo, but it continues to exist year-round.

About the Site

We generate daily statistics for our region using the non-public NaNoWriMo API. We take the list of users with an active NaNoWriMo project to pull out the top ten word counts in our region, a list of who wrote the most words for the day, and who has already won. This information is posted automatically on our group Discord in addition to showing up on this page after the daily run (around 12:05 PM).

This site was initially created and run by Ashes (scatteringashes) on behalf of/with permissions from the region's municipal liasons (MLs) for National Novel Writing Month,who have changed throughout the years. After 2022, Ashes very well may not know the MLs, so the site was condensed and the code written up/posted to Github for future MLs to take over as they request/see fit.
